  11. I like your idea of creating an Abstract SERIAL Device Object but unfortunately
  12. I think it will be a difficult problem.  The Apple view of devices and the
  13. services provided by them is in constant transition.  For example, look at the
  14. upcoming changes in the SCSI manager that will cause the synchronous model to
  15. be subplanted with an Async one.  The SYNC model does not map well onto the
  16. Apple Serial Port. Although it sort of sounds like a good reason to use Objects
  17. I would be very interested in seeing what kind of a model you can build to make
  18. it work.
